In Blue Lifeblood Heleen van den Hombergh, singer and songwriter, but also traveller with a passion for nature, has united the beautiful and dangerous dynamics of the water world with the world of human power and vulnerability.

The  songs of  Blue Lifeblood are all originals written by Heleen, supported by world class musicians. She takes the listener along across the globe to tempting water falls, deep lakes and impressive wetlands, and connects these experiences with the feelings running through her own veins.

Blue lifeblood includes hear her interpretations of:

...the dangerous waterfalls of Foz do Iguacu/ La garganta del Diablo in Brazil/Argentina (Devil's Throat).

...the eternal fight and simbiosis between man, sand and sea in the Dutch Dunes (Dunes Dance)

...the deep dark Toba lake in Indonesia with its exciting history (Hear the Fishermen sing)

...the view at the IJlake from her own window (Old Master's Canvas)

and water as lifeblood as symbol (Blue Lifeblood, When the Water Turns to Ice, the Tide Will Tell).

Blue lifeblood is performed as duo with Bert van den Brink on piano, or with quartet, featuring Theo de Jong on bass and Sjahin During on percussion  Van den Brink and van den Hombergh already recorded two earlier albums (Heard in the Scene and Rush in the Woods) and a DVD/TV production (Live in Amsterdam) and performed together at many theatre- and jazz stages.  Blue Lifeblood to them has been an inevitable reunion after ten years. Chemistry, again, and as a duo riper than ever.
